Pre-Conference Half-Day Service Project

8:30 am – 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022

Roll up your sleeves and pull on your gardening gloves to join us for a fun and rewarding morning helping a community managed garden with an infrastructure project before RVP starts! We are thrilled this year to partner with NeighborSpace, the only nonprofit urban land trust in Chicago, for a pre-conference service project on Wednesday, September 7, from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.

NeighborSpace preserves and sustains gardens on behalf of dedicated community groups, taking responsibility for land ownership, permitting, insurance, environmental remediation, and water access—allowing community groups to focus on community organizing and programming. So head outside, get your hands dirty, and help us make a difference in Chicago’s neighborhoods. Volunteers will help with weeding, planting, watering, harvesting, and site beautification projects. Tools will be provided.

Spots are limited! Please only register for the pre-conference service project if you are committed to attending!
