COVID-19 Safety
Our team is continuing to monitor COVID-19 case rates and regulations and seeks to comply with the most recent public health guidelines. Recognizing that COVID-19 conditions may change rapidly, this webpage reflects the most up-to-date guidance as of August 30, 2022. If there are any changes to COVID-19 protocols at the Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference (RVP), we will update this webpage and e-mail all attendees. We thank you in advance for your patience and compassion for others, as we navigate hosting our first in-person conference in three years while ensuring a safe and accommodating space for attendees. The City of Chicago’s current COVID-19 risk level is “MEDIUM.”
Monitor Your Health Prior to RVP
Please monitor your own health prior to your arrival. If you do not feel well, especially if you are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (e.g., fever, sore throat, cough, fatigue) or if you have tested positive for COVID-19 and are still within the CDC-recommended quarantine window, please do not attend RVP.* For all attendees, please consider taking either an at-home or PCR test for COVID-19 prior to attending.
Onsite Protocols at RVP
- Local mask mandates have been lifted. At the registration desk we will have a limited number of masks available upon request for conference attendees who wish to use them.
- If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, but are outside the CDC-recommended quarantine window, please wear a mask in all public places per CDC guidance (e.g., wear a mask in public places for five days after the initial CDC-recommended quarantine).
- If you begin to experience any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (e.g., fever, sore throat, cough, fatigue) while at RVP, please remove yourself from conference events and consider getting tested.* See more about testing in Chicago here.
- Hilton hotels have implemented the “Hilton CleanStay” policy to ensure hotel rooms and facilitates are appropriately sanitized.
